The dining room is an incredibly important room in so many homes; a place for the family to gather at meal times, a place to entertain on special occasions or as an annex to the living room in which just to relax.
Whether you are considering a formal look, in keeping with a more traditional theme, or perhaps a rustic oak feel is more to your taste we at Listers feel that we have a collection to suit. Alongside the traditional, and country themed oak we also cater for the household who would perhaps prefer a more contemporary feel, when furnishing a new build or refreshing an existing property for instance. While our collections are extensive and complete in many cases, all items in every group equally function as stand- alone pieces to be integrated with your existing furniture or to be mixed with our other ranges. For example, our solid elm Drift table will incorporate itself perfectly with our Rustic oak collection or Heritage reclaimed oak range, giving scope to create a unique dining environment exclusive to you. Other criteria to consider when planning you dining area are size and functionality. The dining room of course is a working room when entertaining and as such should never be cramped or overcrowded with furniture so as serving becomes a problem. So be sure to measure thoroughly. As a rule of thumb 18 is required behind a dining chair so as to have enough room to serve dishes comfortably. When looking at sideboards for instance, how much storage is needed, do you require drawer or cupboard space as a priority? The same applies to dressers in as much as will a compact oak piece fulfil all of your needs or would a much larger reclaimed oak rustic Welsh dresser be more appropriate? As most of our dining collections form a part of larger ranges it is possible to carry a cohesive theme throughout the home allowing you to create an ambience all of your own, or as stated previously each piece can work entirely on its own merits.
